Fleet Mediation Update 06/04/10

Brothers and Sisters,

On June 2nd & 3rd the TWU Fleet Service Negotiating Committee reconvened with American Eagle Airlines management and Mediator John Livingood at the National Mediation Board offices in Washington D.C.

During this session, proposals were exchanged in an effort to acquire structural pay increases and a tentative agreement that would be acceptable to our membership.

Although both parties continued attempts to reach an agreement, the Company’s proposals fell short of meeting our member’s best interests.

Mediator Livingood has informed both parties that he will communicate with us in the next few weeks to schedule another meeting date.

Lawrence Gibbons, Director of the National Mediation Board has responded to our request to be released from mediation and determined it not to be in order at this time. His response can be reviewed here.

Your committee would like to thank you for your patience and support through this extensive process.

Fleet Mediation Update 04/14/10

The National Mediation Board announced on April 14 that bargaining between the Transport Workers Union and AMR will resume while the Board continues to consider the TWU's and the Association of Professional Flight Attendants' requests for release.

The Board also announced that American Eagle and American Airlines will be treated and considered for release as two independent parties, meaning the NMB could elect to release or deny either party at their discretion.
